In 1982, several Christian men formed a singing group in Detroit, Michigan, known to the world as the home of Motown Records. Dedicated to singing for Christ, they called themselves Commissioned and would go on to create a new groundbreaking sound within gospel music characterized by transparent, heartfelt lyrics and tight harmonies that would create an incomparable sound.
Over the years the group has been marked by powerful musicians and singers which include–Mitchell Jones, Michael Williams, Fred Hammond, Keith Staten, Karl Reid, Michael Brooks, Marvin Sapp, Maxx Frank, Montrell Darrett, Marcus Cole, Chris Poole, and Eddie Howard, Jr.
With multiple Grammy and Stellar nominations, several members of the group will come together for a reunion concert to be held on Friday August, 16, 2019. The concert venue is The Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The concert begins at 7pm.
