Disney’s The Lion King, a remake of the 1994 classic, has reached almost $1 Billion dollars in less than one month after its release date.
The movie was released in theaters nationwide on July 19, 2019. To date, it’s become the fifth highest grossing film of 2019. As of July 29, 2019 the film has grossed, according to Box Office Mojo, $962.7 million.
The film features a number of African-American actors including Donald Glover, Beyonce, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfred Woodard, and James Earl Jones just to name a few.
