The life of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes of the multi-platinum and Grammy Award winning group TLC, will be captured in the play, “2 The Left.” The play was created by Actress Kerisse Hutchinson who documents the journey of Lopes in a one-woman show.
According to The Grio, the play took “many years for Hutchinson to research” before writing scenes about Lopes’ dynamic and “controversial moments” in her life such as the “arson incident of her former boyfriend and Atlanta Falcon’s player Andre Rison’s house being burned down.”
The play will also illuminate the spiritual path of Lopes. In an interview with “City Lights” Hutchinson noted that through “learning about one person’s experience, we can learn about ourselves.”
The play will be held at the Synchronicity Theater in Atlanta, Georgia from August 2-11, 2019. Tickets are available here: https://www.synchrotheatre.com/season/20/2-the-left
